Honoring Legacy: Why Le Portier Is Standing With America's Gold Star Families

Some partnerships start with a strategy document. Others start with a conversation.

While our team was putting together the details for Shannon Sharpe's upcoming visits to Nellis Air Force Base and Fort Benning, the discussion turned to the people on the other side of those gates, the ones who serve, and the ones who carry on after service costs everything.

Who America's Gold Star Families Are

A Gold Star Family is a family that has lost a loved one in military service; a parent, a spouse, a child, a sibling. It's a title no one asks for and a loss that doesn't end when the funeral does.

America's Gold Star Families exists for exactly that reason. Their mission is built around three words: Honor. Hope. Healing. They support these families with community, resources and remembrance, making sure that the people who paid the highest price are never asked to carry it alone.

What We're Doing

Le Portier is launching a national give-back and awareness initiative beginning Memorial Day weekend and running through July 6th, built around three commitments.

A direct, per-bottle donation. For the duration of this initiative, Le Portier will donate $5 from every 750ml bottle sold and $3 from every 375ml bottle sold directly to America's Gold Star Families.

A donation option with no purchase required.  A direct donation link to America's Gold Star Families will be visible across all of our communications, because supporting this cause should never come with a price of admission.

Time, not just money. Throughout the campaign, Shannon Sharpe will be visiting military bases for private appreciation events, starting with Nellis Air Force Base and Fort Benning. 

Why This Isn't a One-Week Campaign

Memorial Day will come and go, the way it does every year. But the families this initiative is built around don't get to put their loss away once the long weekend ends.

That's why this isn't designed as a single moment. Le Portier is  keeping the donation programme active well beyond Memorial Day, and continuing to look for ways to support America's Gold Star Families long after the calendar moves on.

How You Can Be Part of It
